We recently took this Volkswagen Caddy 1.9 TDI in part exchange and due to a number of things required we will not retail it and are offering it for sale as 'spares or repairs' only with no warranty or returns.
The van starts, runs and drives well, the main fault is with the dual mass flywheel which is worn and causes a vibration when idling and pulling away. When the clutch is pressed down the vibration disappears leading us to believe this very common fault is the problem. When driving it drives very well, the engine and gearbox operating well. The passenger window only goes down, will not go back up again so needs a new motor. It has had 3 previous owners, it is HPI clear, it has two keys and there is a long MOT through until June 2024. There is one advisory on the current MOT of rear brake pads low, we have not conducted any mechanical inspection of the van so do not know if these have been done. The bodywork is fairly tidy for its age and miles, the only damage of note is a small dent about the size of a fist in the nearside rear quarter panel. The interior is in fairly good order however in dire need of a very good valet as it is very grubby.
As mentioned previously we are selling this van as a spares/repairs due to the above mentioned problems of passenger window and dual mass flywheel. We have not inspected the vehicle, only given it a five mile road test, in which it performed perfectly well apart from the aforementioned vibration when stationary and pulling away.
